An Introduction to Bollywood

In 1947 India reached independence changing the country and influencing the film industry as in the 1950's Hindu film was reported as being at a 'Golden Age'. This was due to a downfall in Lahore and Calcutta's cinema therefore the centre and summit of the film industry in the middle east became Bombay now the film capital. As Calcutta's film industry began to disappear due to a loss in audience this led to their skilled worksman emigrating to Bombay in search of success. A political aspect of the Bollywood film industry is that they martyred themselves for the cause of liberty influencing society from a communist leadership to be a democratic nation; and to continue the social confusion and mis-communications due to religion and language India is a country with 17 major languages. Almost all of which are spoken by a populace larger then the population of England. It has over 5000 gods with six major religious denominations (Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Jain, Buddhist) and ethnic minorities which are the same size as entire Eastern European countries. Yet, if you have to find a single factor that unites the entire nation, it's Bollywood. (Even states like Bengal and Tamil Nadu, where less than 1% of the people speak Hindi, have become major fans of Bollwood.)
